The regional secretary for Productive Sectors and Democratic Memory, Jes\u00fas Jurado, presented the award to the president of the Guild, Domingo Bonn\u00edn, this morning at the Moll Vell fairgrounds. The award ceremony was also attended by the managing director of the Institute for Business Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI), Mariona Luis; the director general of Fisheries and Marine Environment of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Juan Mercant Terrasa; the director of the Boat Show, Chema Sans, and former skippers of the Fishermen&#8217;s Guild of Sant Pere.<\/p>\n<p>The organisers wanted to recognise the work of the Sant Pere Fishermen&#8217;s Guild after more than 30 years of collaboration with the boat show, as year after year the Guild works to relocate the fishing sector so that the Palma International Boat Show can be held over these four days.<\/p>\n<p>The regional secretary for Productive Sectors and Democratic Memory, Jes\u00fas Jurado, recalled &#8220;the role of the Award which, since 2013, recognises people and institutions that contribute to the promotion of the Balearic nautical sector&#8221;, and thanked the work of the Cofrad\u00eda both for the fair and for artisanal fishing.<\/p>\n<p>While the president of the Brotherhood, Domingo Bonn\u00edn, stressed that &#8220;this award is a recognition of the work and collaboration carried out over 34 years, since the fair and fishermen have always been linked&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Previous winners of the Marcial S\u00e1nchez-Barc\u00e1iztegui Award have been the Balearic Naval Regatta Commission (2013); the SAR Princesa Sof\u00eda Trophy (2014); the Escola de Mestres d&#8217;Aixa del Consell de Mallorca (2015); Margarita Dahlberg (2016); Diego Col\u00f3n de Carvajal (2017); Miguel Su\u00f1er (2018), Isabel Subirats (2019) and the Red Cross of the Sea (2021).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presentation of the \u201cRei en Jaume\u201d High Seas Regatta <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the presentation of the Marcial S\u00e1nchez-Barc\u00e1iztegui award, the presentation of the XXXVI Regata de Altura Rei en Jaume took place at the Palma International Boat Show.<\/p>\n<p>The race, which recreates the 110 nautical mile route covered in 1229 by the Conqueror Jaume I to disembark in Mallorca, will be held between the 8th and 10th of September, organised by the Santa Pon\u00e7a and Salou yacht clubs.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation was attended by the Deputy Mayor and Sports Councillor of the Calvi\u00e0 Town Hall, <strong>Eva Serra<\/strong>; the director of the Rei en Jaume Regatta, <strong>Manuel Nadal de Uhler<\/strong>; the manager of the Santa Pon\u00e7a Yacht Club,<strong>, Javier Arrizabalaga; Nani Mas<\/strong> Nani Mas as representative of Port Adriano, and the director of the Boat Show, Chema Sans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The regional secretary for Democratic Memory and Productive Sectors, Jes\u00fas Jurado, presented the award to the fishermen at the boat [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":5783,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[41],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5786","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-2022"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5786","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/6"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=5786"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5786\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/5783"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5786"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=5786"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.pibspalma.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=5786"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
